A positively charming little ring full of quirk and character, this five diamond ring is styled as a classic of the Victorian era, with unique features. Modelled in the (relatively) short-lived 15k standard, in use only 1854-1932, and beloved for its warm, slightly rosy hue, and with five extra-old rose cut diamonds that most definitely predate the mount. Wonky, wobbly, asymmetric, and in the case of the centre stone, still wearing its natural "skin" (one facet is unpolished and has the rougher surface of the raw diamond crystal), these are not your contemporary rose cuts by any stretch of the imagination. Indeed, by 1876, though rose cuts were still in use (often as accent stones), the favour had shifted to the deep and chubby old mine cuts that were the early steps towards the modern brilliant cut. We suspect that, as was often the case in goldsmiths' studios of yore, these curious old stones were either kicking around and available for use, or repurposed from an old jewel into a more modern style. While this is likely not the top choice of someone looking for a normal, sparkly diamond ring - we know this weirdo's perfect match is out there!

Very good antique condition, all stones are secure in their settings and band is thick and sturdy. Minor evidence of past resizing.
