Elegant Retro Onyx Ring

Onyx, a type of agate quartz, is known for its pure black tone and striking opacity. Beloved for thousands of years, onyx has been believed to absorb negative energy, becoming darker and darker the more it takes on. Though the term onyx has come to be synonymous with the popular black variety, in its natural state it is usually banded, and has been made solid black through the use of natural dyes for hundreds of years.

Always striking when set in yellow gold, this gorgeous retro piece (c.1940s) is all the more unusual for its unique tilted asymmetry and demi-bezel style.

Good vintage condition with wear in line with age and use, including minor evidence of past resizing.
