Dainty Victorian Opal Trilogy Ring
This terribly sweet late Victorian ring features three lively opals (though shy on camera, they are bright and bold in person) set into an ultra slim band with finely detailed shoulders. The trio of opals, set diagonally with a subtle size graduation (the centre is slightly larger than the sides), have vivid flecks of green and blue, along with a little orange, yellow, and pink. The shoulders likewise lean on the bias, each with a small beaded detail and a smooth foliate design that almost has the shape of a butterfly.
Good antique condition with reasonable wear for age; some evidence of both past resizing and gold testing at back of band.
Please keep in mind that opals are not compatible with hand sanitizer/alcohols, and care should be taken to avoid excessive exposure to handwashing.
• 10k yellow gold, unstamped but tested
• Size 5 and could be resized down within reason but do not recommend sizing up
• Three natural oval opal cabochons
• Face of ring measures 6.5mm wide, 12.8mm across, with a rise of 3.5mm; back of band measures 1.2mm wide and 0.5mm thick
