An ancient Italian symbol, the mano cornuto (mano=hand corno=horn) is one of several gestures meant to protect from malocchio, the the evil eye. The evil eye was thought to particularly target mothers and babies, men's sperm, and fruit bearing trees - forces of life! The gesture was to be performed with fingers pointing down, unless your intention was to offend instead of protect.

Good vintage condition; though there is very minor separating at one seam, it does not affect the wearability of the piece.
