Bold Heavy Antique Double Albert Chain
A gorgeous gold watch chain with a deep, rose patina is among the most versatile pieces you can add to your collection. In its traditional style, this chain would have had a t-bar hanging from the same ring as the shield, which would slip easily through a button hole on a vest or a top; at either end a dog clip closure makes for an easy way to attach a pocket watch, a fob, or any selection of tools or charms. This piece can easily be worn with the shield hanging as a focal point, or flipped around (the shield could also be easily removed) to showcase the dog clips in front - as ideal as charm holders as they are as clasps. Easily add charms alone or in groups, or add your favourite split ring full of them.
Each arm of the chain has a subtle and beautiful taper, widest in the middle and thinning out towards the clasp and the shield, for added depth and interest. The oxidation of the copper in the 9k gold has given the chain a delightful pinkish hue.
Very good antique condition with wear in line with age and use.
