Big, Bold Vintage Love Token Ring

Beautiful vintage French love token, in heavy-duty ring version. Created by Alphonse Augis and inspired by a letter poet Rosemonde Gérard wrote to her husband, the writer Edmond Rostand, the pendant features a rebus reading "+ qu'hier - que demain" for the lines,

"Car, vois-tu, chaque jour je t'aime davantage,
Aujourd'hui plus qu'hier et bien moins que demain."

(For, you see, each day I love you more,
Today more than yesterday and less than tomorrow.)

The beautiful sentiment lends itself perfectly to a lover, a child, or a friend - on anniversaries, birthdays, or simply any day. We also love this piece as an engagement ring placeholder for the couple looking to choose a ring together, or a special gift on your wedding day.

This ring is more than likely a conversion, with a custom ring mount built for the token. It is in good vintage condition, with an elaborate double-rope frame and spiderweb-like mount. There is a dent on the underside of the mount, along with a small file notch (from past gold testing), but it isn't visible when worn.

• 18k yellow gold, with Augis trademark but no quality marks, but tested
• Size 6.75 (slightly out of round), can be resized within two sizes
• 1 single cut white diamond approximately 1mm, and two baguette-cut synthetic rubies
• Face of ring measures 17.7mm wide, 17.8mm across, with a rise of 7.7; back of band measures 2.5mm wide and 1.3mm thick
