Petite in scale and grand in impact, this antique horseshoe ring sees nine twinkling old cut diamonds set in warm rosy gold with softly ribbed shoulders. The diamonds straddle the freewheeling period between old mine and old European cut dominance, showcasing elements of both faceting patterns each in their own charming way. The horseshoe has been considered a good luck symbol for hundreds of years, though some believe it should be worn or displayed with the curve at the bottom in order to catch blessings, while others feel strongly that it must open downwards so that the luck can pour out on to you. Whether you're a dedicated horsey girl, a firm believer in lucky talismans, or simply a lover of Victorian craftsmanship - this is the perfect ring for you.

Good antique condition with moderate wear, including a full reshank that is yellower in colour than the head of the ring, and a few very minor nibbles at the edges of some stones. Recent retipping ensures all stones are secure.

• 9-14k gold, with yellower band testing closer to 14k and rosier head of ring testing closer to 9k, no stamps
• Size 7 3/8 and can be resized within one size either direction but do not recommend
• Nine mixed old cut diamonds approximately 3-4 points each, approximately 0.28 carat total weight
• Face of ring measures 9mm wide, 9.5mm across, with a rise of 2.6mm; back of band measures 2mm wide and 0.8mm thick
• 2.7g
