This striking bloodstone and gold ring summons all the power of thousands of years of tradition within the history of the signet ring. Since at least 1400 BCE, signet or seal rings have been tools (serving as signature or seal) as much as they have been markers of status, and the weight and craftsmanship of a sturdy engraved piece will make you feel that immediately.
While we have not been able to match the crest to a family name, the bridled horse represents readiness to serve, and is paired with the Latin for "faithfully."
Very good antique condition with wear in line with previous use, including uneven thinning to back of band. c1920s. Originally manufactured in the UK. Face appears to be engraved with a horse's head (bridled) surrounded by a belt and the Latin "Fideliter" (faithfully).
