This stunning turn of the century ring, styled as an east-west navette cluster (the elongated and tapered shape giving the French name for "little ship"), this ring lights up like fireworks in the sun. Featuring a row of opals surrounded by a ring of vibrant green demantoid garnets and then a halo of old European cut diamonds, the play of colour and return of light is truly breathtaking.

Discovered in Russia in the mid 19th century, demantoid garnets are a verdant green variety known and coveted not only for their lush colour but also for their diamond-like brilliance and sparkle (hence the name).

Please keep in mind that opals are not compatible with hand sanitizers/alcohols.

Very good antique condition with wear in line with age and use, including some patina at shoulders and wear to gold and stones.
