Delicate Georgian 18k Band
Delicate Georgian 18k Band

The thinnest whisper of gold to encircle your finger, a little piece of history that seems so unlikely. A simple 18k gold band from Georgian England, just over 200 years old. Despite the fact that plain gold bands (especially high karat ones) are typically the first thing to be melted down for their gold value, this utterly minimal piece has survived intact all this time. Impossible to know how many hands this ring has passed through and what stories it could tell - and what stories of your own will be added to it.
Very good antique condition for its age, with only minor evidence of resizing and a slight loss of metal at the edge of one of the stamps. Due to the thinness of the band, we don't recommend this as a wedding band or for everyday wear if you are rougher on your hands and rings - but it could make a beautiful addition to a collection, a sleek piece that looks utterly modern in its delicate minimalism with the secret of its age only inside.
Details:
• 18k yellow gold, with British hallmarks including the lion passant for London, the date stamp for 1819, and the George III duty mark; karatage isn't stamped but tested
• Size 7 3/8 and not recommended for resizing
• 1.5mm wide and 0.6mm thick
• 0.7g
