Dramatic Vintage Baume & Mercier Lapis Lazuli Watch

This striking watch is truly a timepiece for the jewelry lover. Baume & Mercier, Swiss watchmakers since 1830, made exceptional use of opaque gemstone material to create eye-catching dials wrapped in lush yellow gold in and around the 1960s. This lapis lazuli dial, flecked with pyrite, is a stunning rendition, with a sleek and simple cushion-shaped gold bezel and a dial unencumbered by numerals allowing the ultramarine blue gem to truly take centre stage. The dial is made of reconstituted lapis lazuli, a common manufacturing process by which ground natural lapis lazuli is combined with resin to create a smooth and even-coloured base.

Very good vintage condition with minimal wear and original strap. Manual wind; watch has been shown to wind and keep time for up to 32 hours, but may benefit from service.
