Sometimes called a "boat ring" for the smooth marquise shape of the setting, five stone rings with a tapered face like this were very popular in Victorian England, carrying over into the Edwardian period as well. The graduated stones create a shape with a central focal point as well as flattering finger coverage - a ring like this is a wonderful choice for an engagement ring or a wedding band - or for the efficient jewelry lover, both in one!

Very good antique condition with wear in line with age and use, including evidence of past resizing that has left ring out of round and two small chips to centre stone (please note that they are most obvious in macro photography and not particularly distinguishable when worn).

Details:
• 18k yellow gold, with British hallmarks for Birmingham, maker's mark A.E.C. (please not that past resizing has resulted in the loss of the date letter)
• Approximately size 8 and can be resized within two sizes down (do not recommend sizing up due to shape)
• Four old European cut diamonds and one single cut diamond at end
• Face of ring measures 5.7mm wide, 14mm across, with a rise of 2.4mm; back of band is 2.5mm wide and 1mm thick
• 4.2g
