Ethereal Vintage Blister Pearl Ring

Bold yet soft, this gorgeous ring features a large blister pearl.  Known for their baroque shape and rougher flat back, these are pearls that have formed attached to the mollusk's shell rather than the round pearls that form within the tissue. The unique lustre of pearl, that which has made it prized and coveted, comes from the thin layers of nacre (crystallized calcium carbonate and protein), which causes the light to reflect irregularly and creates its signature sheen.

Good vintage condition with wear in line with age and use, including minor evidence of past resizing and some visible epoxy on pearl.

• Size 9 1/4, can be resized down one size but do not recommend sizing up due to thinning at back of band
• One irregular shape blister pearl approximately 14.5x9.5x5.5mm
