Georgian-Style Brass Split Ring

A beautiful, Georgian-style chased split ring, we believe that this piece was made from a casting of an original antique. This is the perfect way to load all of your charms and pendants onto one necklace. Functioning like a key chain, these split rings were an easy way to hang a few fobs, seals, or other small ornaments from a chain and today we love them to make a little mess of our favourite charms without straining a little chain. They're especially wonderful when styled with an antique chain with a dog clip or two to easily attach.

These pieces can be delicate and it's important to remember that brass doesn't have the same springiness and resilience as a modern key ring: when adding or removing charms, work gently and slowly, only opening the parts of the ring as much as necessary to slide pendants on.
