This ring is a piece of history! With a beautiful patina 160 years in the making, the rich, deep yellow gold of this band is a true dream. For millennia, the precious metal has been associated with with the glow and power of the sun, and high karat gold makes the connection clear. The saturated hue has a beautiful warmth and shine.

Gold alloys are softer in higher karats, so this old ring has developed some lovely wear over its lifetime with all the little scratches and dings that can't be replicated in a modern piece. While band rings are easy to resize, we don't recommend it for this ring as that beautiful patina would be lost and generations of wear have left the band on the thinner side. The inside of this ring bears a clear, full set of British hallmarks dating it to Birmingham 1859, and the maker W.S.

We just adore the quiet luxury of high karat gold - a simple, stoneless band in a completely timeless style.
