Ideal Estate Mano Cornuto Pendant

An ancient Italian symbol, the mano cornuto (mano=hand corno=horn) is one of several gestures meant to protect from malocchio, the the evil eye. The evil eye was thought to particularly target mothers and babies, men's sperm, and fruit bearing trees - forces of life! The gesture was to be performed with fingers pointing down, unless your intention was to offend instead of protect.

This classic version is crafted in 18k yellow gold and is in very fine estate condition, with minimal wear commensurate with age.
