Lively Diamond and Ruby Snake Ring

A gorgeous handmade ring with two sinuous snakes wrapped around each other, tails curling on either side. Each head has been carefully shaped and set with a bright gemstone: a vivid ruby on one and sparkling diamond on the other. Snake rings soared in popularity in the 1800s when Queen Victoria and Prince Albert were engaged with one, but their use in jewelry dates back to ancient times. Representing power and passion, we love them as a gift to yourself or as a token between lovers.

This ring has had a modern polishing and has very minor evidence of resizing (where the quality marks have been interrupted), and the original stones show wear (including a fracture on the pavilion of the diamond), but it remains in very good antique condition.

• 10k yellow gold, with worn stamps (and tested)
• Size 6.5 (approximately, ring is slightly out of round)
• One natural ruby approximately 3mm in diameter, and one natural diamond approximately 4mm in diameter (diamond has a fracture in the pavilion, creating a somewhat shattered glass effect, still very sparkly)
• Face of ring measures 13mm wide, 12.5mm across from outer edges of heads, with a rise of 4mm; back of band measures 3.6mm wide and 0.8mm thick
