Luxe Midcentury Ribbed Bombé Ring

A positively divine piece, this ring gives major presence on the finger with volume from its domed shape and sexy, ribbed form. These plush and plump ring styles - bombe or bombé (alternatively credited to the French "bombe glacée" dessert or the French for bomb-shaped) - date back to the Edwardian and Art Deco periods, with a major revival in the midcentury, though they also draw inspiration from rounded styles as early as the Georgian era. Very good vintage condition with moderate wear in line with age and use, including a lovely patina. Inside of ring is hand engraved with the initials RZ and the number (possibly a date?) 953.
