Otherworldly Victorian Opal Heart Ring

An absolutely mesmerizing, tender ring, this Victorian wonder features a dazzling, fiery opal in a sweet heart shape, set between two glittering early old Euro diamonds. All three stones are held in a crown of dainty prongs, and each shoulder features a pinched and bifurcated detail - the effect is almost like a fine bamboo rod of negative space. Despite the delicate look of the face, the band is smooth and sturdy with a subtle knife edge shape. The diamonds, though included, sparkle in the way only old cuts can, and a single reddish-brown freckle lies just the to left of the heart's cleft in this wholly unique stone.

Very good antique condition, with wear to gold and stones in line with age and use. Opal is possibly a later replacement as all prongs are not touching (but stones are all secure in settings). No visible evidence of past resizing.
