The buckle motif was well loved in Georgian and Victorian jewelry, representing eternity, fidelity, and a strength of love. This fine example features a vivid ruby flanked by a pair of early old European cut diamonds (both very bright, but one on the peppery side), and the detail of both the belt (edged in exquisite twisted detail) and buckle are beautifully rendered.

Very good antique condition with moderate signs of wear to gold and stones.
