Rare Itty Bitty Italian Love Token

Beautiful and rare Italian love token crafted by mainstay manufacturer UnoAErre licensing the style from Maison Augis.

Originally created in French c. 1907 by Alphonse Augis and inspired by a letter poet Rosemonde Gérard wrote to her husband, the writer Edmond Rostand, the French pendants feature a rebus reading "+ qu'hier - que demain" for the lines,

"Car, vois-tu, chaque jour je t'aime davantage,
Aujourd'hui plus qu'hier et bien moins que demain."

(For, you see, each day I love you more,
Today more than yesterday and less than tomorrow.)

In Italian, the rebus reads “+ di ieri - di domani” or "più di ieri meno di domani."

The beautiful sentiment lends itself perfectly to a lover, a child, or a friend - on anniversaries, birthdays, or simply any day. We also love this piece as an engagement ring placeholder for the couple looking to choose a ring together, or a special gift on your wedding day.
