Striking Vintage Emerald Marquise Halo Ring

A vivid green emerald in a bright halo of diamonds nestled in a broad gold band - a perfect combination of colour and sparkle, crisp shapes and smooth surfaces. Though the marquise cut was developed c. 1745 (in Paris, for King Louis XV who wanted a diamond in the shape of his mistress' smile), it enjoyed major spikes in popularity at times in the 20th century, including the 1920s, 1950s, and 1980s.

Very good vintage condition with reasonable wear.
