According to Merriam-Webster, the sixteenth century marks the first use of "pet" to refer to a "pampered and usually spoiled child." Suspected to have come from pety, itself from the French petit (small), over time the term has come to refer to someone who occupies a special place of tenderness, and for the "pet names" and terms of endearment we give those people (an animals). Particularly prized among lovers of antique baby rings, this PET ring would make a lovely pinky ring, midi ring, or charm on a chain.

Though it bears obvious evidence of past sizing, some buffing could take this out (at the cost of losing the rich and warm patina), but as always we've chosen to offer pieces as is, with all the history and wear they carry.

Details:
• 10k rosy yellow gold, unstamped but tested
• Size 2.75 and not a good candidate for resizing
• 3.3mm wide and 0.5mm thick
• Face reads PET
