Victorian M/W Signet Ring

A lovely and deeply wearable signet ring that marries a minimalist form with intricate script engraving. Flared shoulders hold a cushion-shaped face, bearing a delicately rendered letter M (or W, depending how you wear it). It appears that at some point, the band of the ring was reinforced with the insertion of a sleeve inside, resulting in a light ridge behind the face, and an almost knife-edge effect in certain spots along the band. After that, there is further (though minor) evidence of a resizing in the back of the ring.

The face is softly worn, but still beautifully legible and the reinforced band is sturdy and suitable for every day wear.

• Face of ring measures 9.2mm by 9.1mm, with a rise of 1.8mm; shoulders measure 4.8mm wide and 2.4mm thick; back of band measures 2.2mm wide and 0.8mm thick
