Vivid Art Deco Paste Ring
Vivid Art Deco Paste Ring
This striking ring - with design cues from both the Edwardian (note the two-tone construction in gold and silver) and Art Deco (hello, calibrated stones) periods it straddled - is as sure to catch eyes as it is to evoke them. With a shape that tapers across the finger courtesy of custom-cut blue paste (a jewelry term for fancy glass) and flanked with two lines of colourless paste, this piece calls to mind a protective evil eye talisman.
Good near-antique condition with noticeable wear in line with age and use, including evidence of past resizing and one colourless stone replaced with a cubic zirconia, as well as some discoloration behind closed-back settings of colourless stones.
Details:
• 9k rosy yellow gold and sterling silver, unstamped but tested
• Size 5 and do not recommend resizing
• 30 round colourless paste, two round blue paste, two triangular step cut blue paste, one rectangular step cut blue paste
• Face of ring measures 9mm wide, with a rise of 3.8mm; back of band measures 1.6mm wide and 0.8mm thick
• 2.5g
